Tips for Hosting Your Movie Event

WingCinema Movie Events can be used for a multitude of purposes from pure entertainment to promote fellowship to education and enlightenment. The following are suggested guidelines and ideas for hosting and conducting a successful Movie Event.

  1. Ways To Host Your Movie Event

WingCinema Movie Events are great for church, school or ministry events and activities:

    • Fellowship Event … Something fun for your group to do together
    • Evangelistic Outreach Event … Promote the film to your congregation and encourage them to invite friends and neighbors
    • Weekend Church Services
    • Adult Bible Study
    • Mid-Week Meetings
    • Elementary, Junior High and High School Meetings
    • Christian School Class
    • Weekend Seminar Event
    • Fundraiser
    • Your Own Customized Event … You may have another idea that would work well for your group. (If you have a creative idea, please share it with us!)
  2. Ways To Promote Your Movie Event

The Movie Event Kit gives you access to download useful promotional materials to customize and print to effectively promote your Movie Event:

    • Movie Event posters for high traffic areas in churches, schools and neighborhoods
    • Bulletin inserts for your church bulletin or school flier and for distribution in the neighborhood
    • Movie Event ticket template—make tickets available for your group to personalize and give to their friends

Promotional movie clips and a movie trailer are also available to download with the purchase of a Movie Event Kit. Show them to your “audience,” starting a few weeks before your event, to generate interest in the film and to promote your Movie Event.

  3. Ways To Present Your Movie Event

The presentation of your Movie Event will vary depending on its purpose and setting. You may, of course, show the entire film, or you may elect to break it into two or more sessions, depending on your time and objectives. (For example, you may wish to show the film in two sessions to allow ample time for discussion following each showing.)

After showing the film, you have several options:

    • Have a dessert and social time to promote fellowship and encourage discussion of the film.
    • Break into small groups for a discussion of the film. Print and use the Discussion Guide (available with purchase of Movie Event Kit) to equip a leader for each small group. You may also encourage groups to continue meeting to further discuss the film, and future Movie Event films.
    • Lead a discussion of the film. This works best if your audience is small and everyone can participate. Print and use the Discussion Guide (available with purchase of Movie Event Kit) to lead the discussion.

Please note that you have the option to offer DVDs of the movie to your audience. After the film concludes, you may wish to sell DVDs at retail or for a discounted price. You may even give them away for ministry purposes. (Please do not overlook the fact that the sale of DVDs can offset the cost of the Movie Event Kit.)
