The seed for a great miracle lies not in difficulty, but impossibility.
Based on the inspiring true story by Angus Buchan the book was adapted for the big screen by award winning actor and director Regardt van den Bergh and weaves together the moving journey of a man who, like his potatoes, grows his faith, unseen until the harvest.
Angus Buchan, a Zambian farmer, leaves his farm in the midst of political unrest and racially charged land reclaims and travels south with his family, which struggles to start a better life.
After suffering a series of seemingly insurmountable losses, Angus forges an unlikely friendship with his Zulu farmhand and discovers that the key to healing himself and learning to accept others lies in his unwavering belief in the power of faith.

“It was refreshing to screen this film at The Gathering 2009, because it offered such a compelling story about how faith can impact the world. The story of Angus Buchan offers the opportunity for every believer to be encouraged and challenged. It is already a classic in my own family.”
— Dave Condiff, Strang Communications
“Faith Like Potatoes reminds us all that God is sovereign in tragedy and triumph! On this side of heaven, we will certainly encounter both.”
— Joni Blickendorf, Harvest Bookstores
“A grinding portrayal of an obstinate farmer whose faith journey eventually soars and inspires like the sweeping South African countryside of the film’s gorgeous cinematography.”
— Paul Steven Ghiringehelli, Charisma magazine
